This week...

Because nothing much has been going on in our house this post will mostly be a photo post.
This is my new favorite picture. We have been having tummy time with Zack and he is getting really good at rolling onto his back. He has also been scotting (sp?) around on the blanket. The scotting is more him just thrashing his legs and he happens to move forward (or sidewards) but it's the cutest. This picture was taken during one of his tummy times. I love that he looks happy and he has is head raised so much!

This picture was taken because Abbie trys to stay as far away from Zack as possible. He is getting more use to Zack being around. And I'm glad that he doesn't want to be around him. A lot of people scared us with horror stories about cats and babyies. But Abbie is such a good cat and a good sport as you can tell from this picture.

And finally.

Bob took Zack to the BYU stadium for a tour last friday. I got to go to Swiss days! They had a great Boys Day Out. And I'm glad that Bob wants to take Zack places, it's a good bonding time for them. And a nice break for me (he he).

Zack will be getting blessed next Sunday at our church. Hopefully we will be able to get some pictures taken professionally of him in his blessing outfit this week. If we do I'll post them. He is going to look so cute in his blessing outfit!

Okay that's about it.

Nursery

The nursery is going to be an ongoing project. I'm sure I'll continue to add things to it as Zack gets older and is more aware of his environment.

Here is a picture of what the nursery looked like:

Before
This is the color of the room when we first moved in. It wasn't bad I just didn't like the dark color or the one wall painted. I think we definitely improved on the room.

During
This is kind of embarrassing but while we were trying to figure out where everything was going to go there really was no place but on the floor.

These pictures are also like where's waldo... can you find Abbie?

After
I still need to figure out some type of window covering. And I would like the one wall above the crib to have some sort of sports picture but just haven't found the "perfect" thing yet. The balls next to the crib are wooden. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about them yet. And the picture above the changing table is so cute... it's a baby wearing a Michael Jordan jersey looking at Michael Jordan dunk a ball. Bob is a HUGE M.J. fan.

Bob likes:
BYU Cougars
Michigan Wolverines
Chicago Bulls (specifically the Michael Jordan days)

Milestones

Today Zack is officially 1 month old. It's amazing how quickly he growing and how much has changed is such a short amount of time.

I feel like I am finally understanding Zacks needs. I am figuring out his cries. And can usually calm him down pretty easily. Bob still gets a little frustrated because all he thinks Zack does is cry. But he really is such a good baby. He loves to be talked to and he is so active. I know he gets frustrated pretty easily just being on his back. He wants to be doing things and moving around.

A few first so far for Zack
Wednesday August 6 - Zack rolled over for the first time. It hasn't happened again and it wasn't a fluck. I put Zack on his stomach. He put one arm underneath of him so he was propped up on his side. I went into the kitchen and when I came into the living room he was on his back. (And as a sidenote - out kitchen is connected to the living room so he wasn't left unattended - he was just out of my eyesight for a second)

Saturday August 9 - Zack had his first long distance road trip. We went to Idaho Falls, ID for a family reunion. He did really well. Only cried a little bit on the ride there. The ride back was a whole different story. He had a long hot day and was exhausted. He cried for the good part of the ride home. Poor guy.

This was such a cute picture of the three guys in our house napping together.

This is the only picture I have of Zack at his one month mark. We took a drive to Deer Creek but it was $10.00 to even picnic. So we headed to Bridal Vail Falls but it was closed due to some recent fires. So we ended up at Nuns Park (across from Bridal Vail Falls) but got rained on.

Waiting Game

Today Bob and I went shopping. I am at the stage where nothing I own fits. My pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit and the maturnity clothes are too big. Plus who really wants to wear maternity clothes after they baby has been born... LOL.

So what is a girl to do?

Pant shopping is not fun at this stage. I'm not depressed; because this gives me plenty of motivation to start exercising as soon as I get the go ahead from my doctor. But having to buy pants that are a lot bigger then I normally buy sucks!

At least when we get pregnant with baby #2 I'll have a lot of the clothes that I need and hopefully not have to buy as much. I just hope that I can lose the weight and get back into my old clothes soon! But then again I'm pretty sure my hips are wider so maybe I'll never get back to that size. Oh well.

P.S. This isn't a complaining post. I totally understand and accept that things are going to be different.
