35 Week Update

Only about a month left of the pregnancy to go. It's very exciting and scary at the same time. We keep asking ourselves are we ready for two kids. But ready or not it's going to happen. We've been trying to tell Zack about babies more. We point to my stomach and say baby, and every once in a while he'll point and tell us baby as well. While looking at books/magazines he always points at babies and says Baby. So he's understanding that babies are smaller people. So hopefully that is a good sign of what is to come.

This week I started the weekly doctor appointments. We did the strep test (I don't know the full name). It's a test to make sure that if I have the strep virus (not the throat kind) that the baby would need special mediation/treatment after he's born. The doctor checked to see if I was dialated (which I'm not) but said that my cervix was soft so I shouldn't go past 42 weeks... um thanks!

Other then that there isn't really much to update. The baby is moving just fine. We still haven't picked a name... yikes! We keep suggesting names to each other but one or the other doesn't like the name. So far we have Gavin, Jordan and Justin on the table, but nothing is for sure yet. And it's funny because people say that they wait until they see the baby to pick a name, but we were wondering how they do it. Do we just call him different names until he responds.. LOL. Names are so hard because it's so permenent. Maybe we are secretly waiting to see who wins the Superbowl before we pick a name; in that case it may be Peyton or Drew.
Hmmm.

Project Life Tuesday - Week 2

It's Tuesday and I've offically been doing the Project Life (or taking one picture a day for 3 weeks). These are the edited pictures that I have for Week #2. I'll more then likely be about a week behind as I will be editing or collecting pictures. I wish I was a photoshop wizard, but I'm not, nor do I have photoshop so these pictures will have to do. I am enjoying the picture a day. It's been really fun trying to figure out what my picture of the day will be. And of course I'm taking other pictures.

Zack 1, Mom and Dad 0

Tuesday night we lost Zack's last binky. It really is a good thing, but we still looked everywhere for it... and it's gone.

Bedtime for Zack has been fairly easy (give or take a few days). At about 9:00 we try to give him some milk before he goes to bed, we brush his teeth, give him his blankie and his binkie and put him into his crib. He usually cries for a few minutes but then he's quite.

Tuesday not so much.

Without his binky he cried for over 1/2 hour. This is not very common and I know that most parents will just let them cry but once he gets into the really hard crying he won't stop. And yeah we might be softies, so we went in to get him. We cuddled with him for a few minutes on the couch and then eventually sent him back to bed (at 10:00). He cried a little bit but he did fall asleep (it was way past his bedtime).

At the babysitters on Wednesday he had a hard time going down for his nap without a binky and he didn't sleep for as long. His 2nd nap (yes he gets two naps if we can a day) he cried really hard (I actually think he hurt himself somehow), I cuddled him for a minute then laid him back down to sleep. He fell asleep fairly easy. But that night I went to my mom's house to print some pictures only to get a phone desperate phone call regarding Zack. He was inconsolable (sometimes he gets this way and only the binky will calm him down). We needed new binky's ASAP! So on my way home I stopped at Walmart and bought (ugh) some new binkies. I actually don't think he likes them very much so hopefully we will be able to get ride of them quicker. I hate that Zack has become so dependent on that stupid binky!

Any suggestions -- I just don't think the cold turkey approach is going to work for our sanity as well as his.

Project Life Tuesday - Week 1

Thanks to a great friend for introducing me to Project 365 last year. I have purchased Becky Higgins Project Life this year. I'm really excited to try to take a picture a day and basically have them scrapbooked as I go. It's such an easy project and the kit comes with everything that you need for the entire year (plus some).

A few blog sites have been posting the pictures that they took the for the past week on Tuesdays -- thus Project Life Tuesdays. I am going to try to follow along as well. It will be fun to show people what I'm working on and document "a year in our life".

Here is the first week of pictures (minus one day because I'm trying to get some pictures from that day). I started my week on Sunday Jan 3, that way I'll run from Sunday - Saturday.

A little late... Christmas update

Oh well, if it's January 12th and I'm just getting to the Christmas update.

We had a great Christmas this year. I was hoping to get to the Mall to have a picture of Zack with Santa but I think I'll have to leave that tramatic experience until next year.

Bob and I are trying to have start the tradition where we get new pajamas on Christmas Eve. So far it's worked out pretty well. Bob is really hard to buy p.j's for because he's pretty picky about what he'll sleep in. He gets hot at night so he hates the flannel or the fleece bottoms. And they have to be pretty loose on him. Normally I end up buying him some type of workout pants. But it works and he's happy. Me on the other hand I love anything warm and fuzzy!
Here is a picture of our family with our new Christmas P.J.'s!

Zack must have a been a good boy this year, because Santa came to our house. He filled our stocking and left some wonderful presents for all of us.

Christmas morning we invited my mom and Bob's parents to come over to watch Zack open presents. We figured this was a good year to do that because he was already curious about the newly wrapped presents under the tree. It was a lot of fun having them there and Zack sure likes his Grandparents! And boy do they spoil him!

Bob's parents got Zack a new chair, a talking car he can ride and his uncle Blaine gave him a Hammer set that he could bang on.
My mom gave Zack Car garage and a toy that when you push buttons animals pop up. Santa gave Zack puzzles, another chair, a toy that you pull the arm and the middle spins around and makes the animal sound that is lands on and a bucket to help him learn shapes.
Mom and Dad gave Zack clothes, and a toy car.
In the end Zack had a lot of new toys that he loves to play with!
This is the mess after we'd opened all our Christmas presents!
And here is a picture of the baby bump on Christmas morning. I have to say I'm feeling so much better then I did with Zack. I do think the little guy has dropped, as getting up has been really hard and a bit painful (lots of pressure "down there").

The rest of the christmas day was spent at my sister's house for breakfast then at my grandma's house for dinner. It was super yummy and great to spend time with family!
