Some Videos

These are a couple videos of Zack from the last couple of days.

He has mastered climbing the stairs. We aren't normally (ever) in the basement so I'm not sure where he learned this, maybe at Bob's parents house. He does like to climb on my mom's VCR and DVD player they have and they do look like stairs. I thought he learned at the babysitters house but she seemed surprised to see him doing it when I got there this afternoon. (I did record it sideways; sorry about that!)

The next video is just me feeding him. About the middle she starts spitting. Something he has just started to do and I hope it's not a habit.

He's learning new things everyday and he definitly is learning from other people. It will be fun to see what he learns to do next.

Slow posting

I'm getting really bad at posting what's been going on in our lives! Things in our house is constantly on the move! With work, church callings, groups, basketball and day to day stuff; we are ALWAYS busy!

Here is a sample of how a typical week looks for us.
Monday - Bob works from 7-5; I work 7:30-11:30; At 7:00 I go to a workout class with my mom.
Tuesdays - Bob works from 7-5; I work 1:30-5:30; Depending on the week we either have Pack Meeting with the cub scouts or I have craft or cooking group. Bob plays church basketball at 8:30.
Wednesdays - Bob works from 7-5; I work 7:30-11:30; this is our only free day. We usually try to get things cleaned up in the house, grocery shop or just catch up on DVR. At least once a month I have Bunko on this day so those weeks are CRAZY!
Thursday - Bob works from 7-5; I work 1:30-5:30; Bob plays church basketball at 8:30 (I think, could be earlier).
Friday - Bob works from 7-5; I work 7:30-5:30. It's the end of the week so DATE NIGHT!

It's no wonder we are always tired; we are constantly on the go!

But we've gotten Zack into a semi-schedule. Depending on the day he gets up around 9ish then naps after about 2 hours. Usually this nap is about 2 hours long. Then he's up for about 3 hours and down for another nap. This one can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. We try to get him to take his last nap around 6 but we wake him up at 7:00. By 10:00 it's bedtime for Zack! He sleeps through the night on occasion.

Some other things to note is Zack has another tooth. It's not one of the top two front teeth like I thought he would get next but it's off to the side. He's also crawling like a stinkbug now! It's so cute! And sometimes his feet move faster then his hands and he face plants it. He's such a funny VOCAL little boy. He loves to terroize the cat too! This afternoon while my mom was watching Zack she said he tackled Abbie. Abbie is so patient with Zack; he's a great big cat brother.

So that's about it, I'll try to be better at posting!

8 Months

On Tuesday Zack turned 8 months old. My little boy is growing up so fast!

This past month we have had a few things that have happened.

On February 13th Zack had his hypospadious surgery. Google it if you want to know exactly what it is. He did amazing! He is all healed and we go in for a check up with the urologist on Friday.

Since learning how to crawl Zack has become a terror (in a good way). He is all over the house! And all over Abbie. He gets so excited when he sees Abbie and makes a bee-line for him. Abbie is actually doing fairly well with Zack and only tried to swipe at him a few times (without his claws). Zack is pulling himself up on everything. He's just not satisfied unless he's standing up. I'm sure he will be walking in no time. There has been a few times I've stood him up in the middle of a room and he's stood for a second or two, then slowly lowers himself to a sitting position. It's nothing that I'm forcing but he's definitely getting stronger and less wobbly legs.

Zack has also found our bookshelf of movies and at least twice a day if not more he pulls the 3rd row and sometimes the 2nd row of DVD's from the shelf.

And now that Zack is mobile he is finding all kinds of stuff to put into his mouth. I think I've vacummed and swept the house well enough but Zack always find some stray item to put in his mouth. He's also hiding from me when I see him chewing on something and try to get it out of his mouth. He's definitly learning and adapting!

Zack is also very vocal. He loves to talk and I'm sure when he starts using words he is going to be a chatterbox! He growls at me all the time too, it's pretty funny. But of course as soon as I get the camera out to video him talking and growling he clams up.

Another thing that Zack has started doing in the past month is sleeping on his belly during the night. When I lay him down to sleep I always put him on his back. He loves his blue fuzzy blanket so I put that by his face so he can hold it at night. But sometime in the night he flips over and tucks his knees underneath him. I worry becuase he is on his face, but I guess he's strong enough to move if it's hard for him to breath. Plus there isn't much I can about it, if I move him he'll just get back in the same position.

Zack has brought such joy into our house! I love him more every day! I could not imagine life without him, and feel so blessed that he is a part of our family!
