I started a post a couple weeks ago about how close Zack was to crawling. Well since then he has full on started to crawl and nothing is safe. We have the baby gate blocking the stairs and we are constantly checking on Zack to find out what he's found on the floor to put in his mouth. It's not that our floor is dirty he just finds everything and anything to put in his mouth.

The other day I put Zack on the floor to play with his toys and I sat down to watch a little TV. The next thing I heard was Abbie meowing. I looked over and Zack had Abbie pinned to the ground. I was laughing so hard! Abbie is constantly testing the boundaries with Zack. He's always walking by him or sitting in close proximity. Zack has grabbed his tail quite a few times. He's also tried to put Abbie in his mouth... Yuck!

I have a few video's of Zack.

The first one is him just learning to crawl. It was taken on January 22nd.

The next video is of Zack actually crawling. It was taken on February 2nd. And this wasn't the first time he's crawled just the one time I was actually able to get it on camera. He's quite camera shy!

This has been my favorite milestone so far. He's moble so he's content being on the ground by himself. And when we leave the room he follows us! I love it! Now I just have to keep track of where he is going. He also loves when we lay on the ground so he can crawl on us. He's getting really good about pulling himself up!

First Hair Cut

My baby is growing up so fast! Saturday Zack got his first hair cut. I've been meaning to get it done for awhile now but it's so hard because most kids don't need to get their hair cut until they are much older. But Zack and his cousin Evan both had to get hair cuts at about 6 months.

We were going to have my brothers' girlfriend Arielle cut Zack's hair on Christmas but things got so hectic with the snowstorm and visiting family that it just never happened.

Bob finally made an appointment with his Aunt Ione and we went in on Saturday. Zack did so good. He pretty much takes to everyone easily. She sprayed his hair a couple times and started clipping. He didn't really seem to mind at all. Ione gave me a few of the first pieces that were clipped. We thought we were cutting about 1 1/2 inches off but when I measured it it's about 3 inches. But his hair turned out exactly the way we wanted it to. If I really try hard I can probalby lay it down flat but we wanted it so we could spike and faux hawk it again! It's so cute, but he looks so grown up now!

We actually think his hair cut is shorter then when he was born!

Well I guess that's just life, my little guy is growing up!

Just another milestone!

The measurement!!

6 Months

Dear Zack,

I can't believe you are already 1/2 a year old. Time really has flown by. You are a true blessing to our family! There are days when you are napping and I can't wait until you wake up so I can play with your some more (but then there are also days I just want you to sleep so I can get things done).

This past month you have grown up so much. You got your two teeth. Only one day of crying and you were done. Your such a strong boy!

You've masters the art of sitting all by yourself. You haven't gotten to the point were you can get to the sitting position by yourself but when we sit you down you can sit for a long time!

You are playing with your toys by yourself and your personality has really started showing through. You've got a few favorite toys already.

When we play games and mom gets tired you still want to keep playing. Your favorite games are when I crash you into the Love Sac. If I stop, you propel yourself forward forcing me to think fast and catch you. You are so much fun to have around.

You've recently started getting on your hands and knees. It's fun to watch you try to crawl. Your not quite there yet, but I know you'll be speeding around the house in no time. The only problem is when your on your knees you usually fall to your stomach and that frustrates you. So we are constantly setting you back on you bum only to have you on your stomach seconds later.

You've also started to pull yourself up on people laying on the ground, your crib and the playpen. We now have to lower everything to keep you safe.

This past month we celebrated Christmas and you saw the New Year be rung in. Welcome to 2009 little man!

We had had Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa Speakman on Christmas Eve. They brought you a fun toy that played lots of music and a new jacket. You didn't quite know what to do with the presents but you tried. On Christmas all of my side of the family came to our house for breakfast and to open presents. It was so much fun sharing that time with them. You were really spoiled today, not only did Santa bring you some fun stuff, but Grandma Visser, Aunt Jeanette and Aunt Jo brought you some noisy toys. Mom will have to thank them later. I know that next Christmas you will "get it" a little more and we'll really have fun!

We also finally got you a high chair. You like it so much more then sitting in the bumbo.

You'll be going in for surgery next month to have a few things "fixed". It's going to be so hard on the both of us, but you most of all.

I love you so much and you make our house so much fun!

And the 6 Month Comparison... Look how much you've grown!

Christmas Post

I've been really slacking on my blog posts keeping things up to date. We've had a lot of milestones in our family, but I think I'll save that for the 6 month post.

Christmas came and went in a snowy blur! We had a blast and are so glad we were able to spend it with all of our family.

Christmas started on Sunday, December 21st. We went to my Dad and Debbie's house for Dinner. It was fun. We ate, played games and opened presents. Zack got 2 new outfits from my Dad and Debbie.

On Christmas Eve we had Bob's parents over for dinner. After dinner we opened presents. Zack got a musical set and a new jacket. Bob got a Lowe's gift card and I got a Target gift card. We had a lot of fun. Once Zack was asleep we played Sequence (Bob's favorite) game with them. It was a great Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning Bob wanted to wake Zack up so we could open presents. I wanted him to sleep in as long as possible so he would enjoy Christmas when my family got to our house. Zack woke up around 9 so we didn't have to wait too long to start opening presents.

The look on Zack's face holding new sippy cups is so funny! It's like Santa brought me CUPS?!

A picture of Zack in one of the Christmas boxes with wrapping paper.

Christmas Day Bob and I were hosting Christmas breakfast at our house. The weather ended up being horrible. We had a ton of snow. But thankfully everyone was able to make it. For breakfast we had French Toast Casserole, Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Hash browns, muffins and Grapefruit. It was a great breakfast. Since the weather was so bad everyone just brought the presents into our house! It was so much fun opening present with the entire family. Grandma, Grandpa, Jo, Mom, Gordan, Jeanette, Ray, Tyler, Russell, Arielle, Deanna, Kelly, Christopher, Lydia and of course Bob, Me and Zack were all there together! It was a great Christmas morning. Zack was spoiled! He received two more musical toys, clothes and toys.

After breakfast we went to my Grandma's house and ate some more and played the Wii in the basement. I was a great day!
