Baby #2 is developing nicely. He's measuring right on schedule (maybe a little bit big -- we have big babies!)
Stats:
Dilated to 1 1/2
50% effaced
Cervix - soft
Baby is in -3 position (+4 is baby is being delivered as I understand)
My doctor is pretty confident that we shouldn't have any problems delivering vaginally. Of course we didn't think that there would be any problems with Zack so who knows. Bob and I have decided to do a VBAC (Vaginal birth after Cesarean) for many reasons.
- Quicker recovery time
- Cost less
- Less time in the hospital
I'm nervous of course to do the VBAC because of all the horror stories online of bad VBAC's but I also know and have found very successful stories of people having them and everything working out great. So that is what we are doing. Honestly I'm just excited to be able to hopefully take a shower the same day. It seemed with the C-section I couldn't shower for a few days and when I did it was very painful because you can't get the incision wet and abdominal surgery just hurts. Plus Zack is so young and he doesn't understand that he can't jump on mommy. And with a C-section I'll be down a lot longer then with the VBAC.
So cross your fingers that everything goes as planned and we can have this kid "naturally" -- with an epidural of course.
Hope things work out for you. I know a lady who did the VBAC and it worked just fine.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting closer! :) I have a friend who do the VBAC and it went perfect! She actually had a very quick delivery so hopefully that is your case. After I had my c-section it was hard to not pick up Micaela. You lift them alot more than you think.
ReplyDeleteWe will be praying for you!! xoxo
I have had MANY friends who have had successful VBAC's... crossing my fingers for you...
ReplyDeleteLet's take pictures of that tummy!
