Letter to our little one

Hello little one,

I feel you in my belly. You are a little mover and a kicker. I must say this is my favorite part of the pregnancy. It makes it seem so much more real and I can't wait to meet you. 2 more months. I hardly feel ready. But ready or not you will be coming. Already you have your own personality. I know what way I can lay on my side to make you kick but also which side will make you the most happy. You hate when I lay on my left side which is difficult for me. Normally I sleep on my right side so the fact that you like it better when I lay on my right side shouldn't be a problem. The only problem is most books and online resources say to lie on your left side because of better blood circulation and other things. So I try to give the best "blood circulation" but as I said before you have your preference, so who am I to argue with nature. You also sit very low in my pelvic bone. At night it feels like you are kicking me from inside my leg because you are sitting so low. And as I mentioned before you are quite the bouncer on my bladder. Every time I move or stand up I definitely feel you on my bladder. You also like to stretch as far as you can go because I'll feel one part of you in my hip bone and the other part at the top of my rib cage; it makes bending very difficult. But as I said before I love this feeling. You are real, and I love that!

You really start moving when I eat pretty much anything. But Orange Juice really gets you kicking. I hope all this moving and kicking isn't any indication as to your personality when you are born. We are hoping for a nice, calm, relaxing baby, and if you could cuddle with us that would be great too. Your older brother is not any of these things. But we will be happy with a healthy bouncy little boy.

I know with your birth your older brother is going to have a lot of adjusting to do. He will only be 19 months old. He won't quite understand who or where you came from. And I'm sure at some point he'll hope you go back. But he's going to love you as well. He'll be a great big brother and you guys will hopefully be bestest friends. Please forgive him if in his early age he hits you or is a little too rough. He's still learning and may not understand that you aren't as tough as him (yet).

We are anxiously awaiting your arrival; but please take your time (we want you fully "cooked") .

Love,
Your Mom

SNOW!

A week or two ago we had our second snowfall of the season. The first one didn't stick around long enough to go out and play (that and we didn't have any warm clothes for Zack yet). Bob tries to shovel and salt the driveway during and right after it snows. This way he can keep the driveway clear in case it's a heavy snowfall. So Bob went out to shovel and I was trying to keep Zack happy even though his Daddy had left him. Well I failed miserably so we found his snow pants (compliments of Grandma Visser) and his jacket and out we went to play in the snow while daddy shoveled. And when I mean play in the snow I mostly mean Zack ate the snow. I don't know what fetish this child has with cold things (ice and snow) but he loves to eat them both. Of course at first I couldn't find his gloves so he just ate the snow using his fingers. But they were getting cold! So back into the house I went to find his mittens. We tried the mittens at the BYU/Wyoming game and they didn't work very well, Zack just wanted to pull them off. But his time I think he actually understood that by having the gloves on his fingers stayed toasty. So he allowed the gloves to be put on and continued to eat the snow. After Bob was finished with the driveway he tried to get Zack to do a snow angel. It 1/2 way worked. Mostly Zack just layed there, wondering what his daddy was doing to him. Plus he was rudely interupted in his snow eating. We got a couple pictures then back into the house. I was cold and Zack's little face was all rosey.

It's too bad the snow didn't stick around too long, but we are waiting patiently for the next round of snowfall.
