Sleep Routine
With Gavin we are lucky because he's still in a crib. Not sure exactly when or why we moved Zack to a toddler bed but I think it was about Gavin's age now (maybe a little bit older).
Anyways Gavin has been awesome with bedtimes and naptimes. I'm sure I've said this before and so far we haven't had to much problems with him.
For naptime he usually goes down about 11am. Lately it's been a little bit later, but that's 100% my fault. And when Gavin takes a nap it's 2-3 hours long. We are blessed!
His routine:
Once he starts acting fussy I ask him if he needs to take a nap. His normal answer is a grunt and a head nod.
I then make him a bottle of milk
He drinks the milk
I wrap him in his blanket and give him his binky.
I then carry him to bed and hand him a book.
After that it's up to him as to when he falls asleep. Normally I don't hear a peep from him. The other day I went in to check on him and this is what I found.
So stinking cute! I love that Gavin is such a good sleeper and goes right to bed. He's also pretty predictable with his sleep schedule which helps a ton. I've said this before and I'll say it again Gavin is a true blessing to our family! Just as Zack is a blessing to our family!

Nightime... not so good
But lately when we put him down for bed he's been coming right out of his room. I thought I had it nailed today. After 15 minutes he still hadn't came out of his room. But then right when I thought he may be asleep I heard his door open and shortly afterwards he was peeking around the corner. We put him to bed over and over for about an hour; when we finally give up and he lays down with Bob and they both fall asleep. This.is.not.okay.with.me! I don't want him to get into the habit of sleeping in our bed! I even tried to put one of those balls on the door knob to keep him in his room, but he cries uncontrollably! I know we are soft, I should just let him cry but it's so SAD! Once he's fallen asleep I put him back in his room, because that kid moves way too much, and a King bed is not big enough for the four of us (Abbie sleeps at the foot of our bed, Gavin is in a cradle).
Any suggestions? I just worry that this may be him acting out about Gavin. He just wants to be with us at night and when he's locked in his room he just crys while saying Daddy. It's heartbreaking! Which is why I usually cave.

Ramblings of a pregnant women who should be in bed....
With Zack:
I didn't start feeling sick until the 2nd trimester and then I was sick every night and sometimes in the afternoon.
I felt like by this time with Zack I had already had three or four dr. appointments.
The doctor actually measured my belly.
We had heard the heartbeat a few times.
I took tons of weekly pictures.
With this pregnancy:
I felt sick pretty early, but was able to contain it. I've only been physically sick a few times.
This week will be my third dr. appointment.
We still haven't heard the heartbeat (cross your fingers they actually find it this time!).
I'm afraid to take pictures of myself because I know I'm WAY bigger then I was before.
I'm not sure if I'm having some sort of depression about this pregnancy. I'm very excited for the new addition to our family. But I think with Zack we were much more prepared. It was planned. I was working full time so we were able to buy everything and then some for Zack. With this pregnancy I'm only working part time and I feel like we are barely making ends meet with mortgage, car payment and day care. It's been very hard for me to think about what we may need to buy for this new little one. Let alone how I'm going to take any time off work. I'm not sure Zack is ready for a toddler bed so we'll probably end up buying a new crib. I also don't think we'll be able to fit two cribs in Zack's room so we are trying to finish the basement with any money that we can, so the new baby can have the computer/scrapbook room upstairs. Which means we'll need to decorate the new baby's room. I know that things will work out... they always do. But I'm a worrier and I think about things way to much.
This is a dumb post, but it's just something that I'm feeling... I guess. It's also midnight so I'll probably delete the post in the morning.
But just to clarify... I am very excited for this baby. I know it's going to completely change the dynamics of our already small family. It's something that we wanted and I'm glad that it happened on it's own. I know that this baby is going to be a blessing for our family and we will do what we need to do to make things work.

Slow posting
Here is a sample of how a typical week looks for us.
Monday - Bob works from 7-5; I work 7:30-11:30; At 7:00 I go to a workout class with my mom.
Tuesdays - Bob works from 7-5; I work 1:30-5:30; Depending on the week we either have Pack Meeting with the cub scouts or I have craft or cooking group. Bob plays church basketball at 8:30.
Wednesdays - Bob works from 7-5; I work 7:30-11:30; this is our only free day. We usually try to get things cleaned up in the house, grocery shop or just catch up on DVR. At least once a month I have Bunko on this day so those weeks are CRAZY!
Thursday - Bob works from 7-5; I work 1:30-5:30; Bob plays church basketball at 8:30 (I think, could be earlier).
Friday - Bob works from 7-5; I work 7:30-5:30. It's the end of the week so DATE NIGHT!
It's no wonder we are always tired; we are constantly on the go!
But we've gotten Zack into a semi-schedule. Depending on the day he gets up around 9ish then naps after about 2 hours. Usually this nap is about 2 hours long. Then he's up for about 3 hours and down for another nap. This one can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. We try to get him to take his last nap around 6 but we wake him up at 7:00. By 10:00 it's bedtime for Zack! He sleeps through the night on occasion.
Some other things to note is Zack has another tooth. It's not one of the top two front teeth like I thought he would get next but it's off to the side. He's also crawling like a stinkbug now! It's so cute! And sometimes his feet move faster then his hands and he face plants it. He's such a funny VOCAL little boy. He loves to terroize the cat too! This afternoon while my mom was watching Zack she said he tackled Abbie. Abbie is so patient with Zack; he's a great big cat brother.
So that's about it, I'll try to be better at posting!

Today marks 40 weeks
- I can't find a comfortable position to sleep.
- Get out of bed makes me feel like a turtle on it's back; because I do a lot of swing my arms and legs to roll over and get out of bed. Poor Abbie has started sleeping on the couch because I'm sure I've kicked him more times then I'd like to rememeber.
- Most of my dreams revolve around my water breaking and getting to the hospital ASAP. So everytime I wake up I'm checking my bed for water (just in case).
It's getting scary for me. Any day know we'll be having our baby! Yikes! Bob was hoping we'd have the baby this weekend then he'd have a 10 day week vacation from work. But no luck. If he has to travel futher then the Salt Lake Valley he calls to see how I'm feeling to make sure I won't go into labor while he's out of the valley. I know he's starting to be a nervous wreck as well. He just wants everything to go smoothly.
And if for some reason we end up going until the 14th and have to be induced, I'm sure neither of us will get much sleep the night before.
I'll try to take a picture this week of my 40 week belly. But I'm sure it's no different then the 38 or 39 week picture. This is one that I had done for my 39 week picture. I probably shouldn't have worn black but oh well.

I'm sure I'll keep everyone updated this week on what's going on. And hopefully we'll be able to post pictures from the hospital. I'll have to convice one of my family members to bring their laptop since we don't have one. So everyone say a little prayer that we'll have this little guy sooner then later.
