Sleepy boy, 2 months, blessing!

I'm sure if you are just checking in on our family, you've been wondering if I will ever repost again. It's just been a busy hectic past few weeks!

To start with we have done away with most of Zack's naps. Mainly the only time he gets a nap is if he passes out on his own and we can't keep him awake. Why you say? Because it's 11:06pm and I still have a wide eyed and bushy tailed little boy! If he doesn't take a nap he goes to bed by 9pm. If he takes a nap he's awake! Ugh!

I had a video I'll try to load later. Blogger is having issues and wont load it... GRRR!

I couldn't help but laugh while filming this video! It was too funny. I never thought I would see Zack so tired that he falls asleep while eating! Unfortunetly this was around 6pm so you can only guess how long he stayed up that night!

Gavin had his 2 month check up a week ago. No one can say that that little guy isn't getting enough food! He's getting so big!

Stats:
24 inches long
13.2 pounds
His head is in the 50 percentile and his weight and height is top of the charts. I can't help it I have big boys! He's a little ahead of what Zack was at the same age but only by a few points.

Gavin is doing great. He's able to hold his head up and he's such a strong little guy. He loves laying on his back and having people to talk to. I get a big grin from him when I push his legs into his belly. He's been a very content little guy laying under his gym looking at the toys dangling above him. Which has been a big help since his older brother likes to have a lot of attention.

Zack has been doing really good with Gavin. He goes up and talks to him and loves to have his picture taken with him. Of course the second the picture has been taken Zack pushes Gavin off his lap and wants to look at the image. There has been a few times where Zack has hurt Gavin but he's learning what he can and can't do and how soft he needs to be with his little brother.

A couple of Sunday's ago we blessed Gavin a member of our Church. It was such a great experience to have his father give him a name and a blessing. I am so lucky to have such a great husband that holds the Priesthood! After church (Sacrement) we came back to our house for a light lunch with family and friends. We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. I know that our children are loved by so many people!

Other then that not much has been going on in our lives. I've started looking for a new job, which isn't very fun and quite stressful at times. I'm not sure that we can afford daycare so I may just look for part time job in the evenings. It will be hard but hopefully once the boys are little older I will be able to work during the days. Of course best case scenerio is the Bob will get a promotion at work and I wouldn't have to work.... But that may not be for a few more years at best.

Nightime... not so good

Well our good luck with Zack's bedtime has finally worn off. He has done so good with naps in his converted bed. He doesn't even get out, just lays down and falls right asleep.

But lately when we put him down for bed he's been coming right out of his room. I thought I had it nailed today. After 15 minutes he still hadn't came out of his room. But then right when I thought he may be asleep I heard his door open and shortly afterwards he was peeking around the corner. We put him to bed over and over for about an hour; when we finally give up and he lays down with Bob and they both fall asleep. This.is.not.okay.with.me! I don't want him to get into the habit of sleeping in our bed! I even tried to put one of those balls on the door knob to keep him in his room, but he cries uncontrollably! I know we are soft, I should just let him cry but it's so SAD! Once he's fallen asleep I put him back in his room, because that kid moves way too much, and a King bed is not big enough for the four of us (Abbie sleeps at the foot of our bed, Gavin is in a cradle).

Any suggestions? I just worry that this may be him acting out about Gavin. He just wants to be with us at night and when he's locked in his room he just crys while saying Daddy. It's heartbreaking! Which is why I usually cave.

Easter 2010

Because it's more then a week after Easter and I haven't posted ANYTHING, here is my post... this is how I roll!

Easter came and went in a blur. Not only was it Easter but it was also Conference Weekend and Bob's mom's birthday. ALL IN THE SAME DAY. Can we get anything more packed into the one day? It was sad because we couldn't really focus on Bob's mom's birthday because we had two other families to visit. And since we are POOR all we could do was wish her a Happy Birthday.

This was also's Gavins first Easter. Unfortunetly he was only 5 weeks old and didn't get to participate too much. And I feel bad because we barely got any pictures of him on Easter. We have a ton of Zack hunting for Eggs at varies peoples homes but not much in the way of Gavin. I know BAD MOMMY! It's just hard because Gavin sleeps and Zack runs. And there are only so many sleeping baby pictures that can be taken. I promise next Easter will be different, both boys will be on the move and we'll have a lot more pictures of the two of them.

Zack with the easter basket that Bob's Mom made for Zack and Gavin.

Because it was Conference Weekend we didn't have church so we didn't even get to have the boys dress up for church in there Easter vests. But we did have the boys dressed up to visit all of our families. They looked so cute in their matching vests. Too bad I couldn't get Zack to hold Gavin (or to hold still) long enough to get a good picture. This one will have to do.

Zack seemed to enjoy Easter this year. He understood that inside the hidden eggs were candy (and boy does he love his candy). He still doesn't understand that once he's found one egg he needs to keep looking. Because he's happy with the candy that he has at the moment and he wants to eat it NOW!

The Easter Bunny brought both of the boys a bunch of loot! We got them both sport baskets... he he! I love them!

Gavin recieved: A toy that hooks on his car seat, a Onesie that says "Wild Thing" on it, some socks, and a few eggs with candy (for Mommy and Daddy).
Zack recieved: A foam sword, A new car, Pajamas, Elmo book and some eggs filled with candy.

And last but not least here is a picture of Zack before one of the Easter Egg Hunts. He put the basket on his head with no coxing from his parents. He's such a ham!

One Month Update

One Month Old

This week Gavin turned one month old. So far being parents to two boys hasn't been too bad. It does make it easy that so far one only sleeps and eats. I'm sure life will get a lot more interesting once Gavin starts walking and playing with his big brother.

Gavin is such a good baby. He is still sleeping a lot during the day which is nice because I've had time to spend with Zack. But not so nice because he's waking up more at nights. I do think that in the next month or so we'll start working on getting him a sleep schedule. I would like to try to keep him up more during the day so he sleeps more at night.

Zack has been handling his new baby brother a lot better then I thought he would. He likes to hold Gavin and anytime I'm taking a picture of Gavin Zack needs to have his picture taken too. He's been very helpful in getting things for us when we need them (diapers, wipes or change of clothes). He has tried to pick up Gavin a couple times but mostly so he could get our attention. I think I'm going to like that they are so close in age because hopefully they will be best buddies.
