Long Week

Tomorrow my baby will be a week old. Posting will probably be slow for the next little while as having two kids under the age of 2 is going to be a juggling act for Bob and I.

Gavin Delton Speakman was born on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 4:32 am. It was a long night for us. To make a 22 hour story short. We went to the hospital at 7:15 am on Monday 3/1/10 to be induce. Our plan was to have VBAC. 21 hours later dialated to a 9, cervix still not thinned and Gavin facing the wrong the direction the doctor said we should call it and to the C-Section. My doctor has been behind us 100% so to have her think it would be best to do the C-section we took her advice. 30-something minutes later our little guy was here!

The hospital stay was LOOOONNNNGGG! We were finally released Saturday Morning. We were hoping to be realeased a day earlier but Gavin had jaundice and the doctors thought it would be best if we both stayed the planned day... Grrr. I was so ready to go home, the hospital room was so boring (and lonely in the evenings and nights).

First outfit in the hospital. He had the cutest dinosaur feet.

The first time I saw Zack after his baby brother was born. I nearly cried, he looked so much older! And he brought his mama flowers!

Zack loves to hold Gavin. He still wont say his name, but he does call him baby. He'll sit on the the couch and say me, me. Which means he wants to hold his little brother. But you have to watch out the minute he's done holding him he pushes him off his lap... gotta be quick.

JULY 10TH WAS A GREAT BIRTH DAY!!

It's me...Little Miss! I couldn't resist hijacking her blog to let you know that Zachary LaCon has arrived safe and sound. She went into labor Wednesday-ish and by Thursday morning the baby was still being stubborn and not dropping...

well...turns out it wasn't ALL his fault-- Zachary had the chord wrapped around his neck and needed to be taken by emergency c-section. (HELLO WORLD!!) He was 8 lbs. 10 oz. and 21 inches (?)-- at least those are the rumors. I could be wrong on a few details so don't hold me to 'em.

All I really know is that he is beautiful with a full head of hair, chubby cheeks, gushy thighs, a beautiful cry, and an amazing and exhausted mom and dad! This is the only pic I have for now (from her cell phone at the hospital) but Jenn will post all the pics and all the details when her new family of THREE returns home on Monday--

p.s. those of you who are lucky enough to live nearby had better go give Baby Boy hugs and kisses for me because I.AM.DYING. without him. My arms ACHE to hold him. Literally. Ache.
