Happy Pre-Halloween

This isn't my Halloween post, that will be after Halloween when I have all the fun pictures of Zack in his costume at his first Trunk or Treat! I'm very excited.
This is just an update post. Really not much is going on. Zack is adjusting well to being Babysat everyday by different people. And I think socially it's going to be good for him. He gets one on one time with his grandparents and a little play time with neighborhood friends. I've decided that 4 hour a day isn't too bad. By the time I start really missing him it's time for me to head home. I also like working some mornings and some afternoons. I think it's going to work out okay.
Last Saturday was my last BYU game. So I had to get a family picture of all us BYU fans. It's funny before meeting Bob I HATED BYU. There wasn't really any reason other then I liked to be add controversy. I wasn't a fan of Utah either. Go Weber State! And even the first few year of being married I tolorated BYU for Bob but the past year or two I have become a fan. And it's not because they are winning, I don't jump on bandwagons. Mostly I was being supportive of Bob and his favorite teams, so they grew on me. I love going to the game and I can't wait to take Zack to them! With Bob as his Dad he's going to see so many sporting events! Oh yeah and the reason that this is my last game is because the last home game (Nov 6th) I have a all day Scout thing that I need to go to. Oh well, Bob will have fun with his friend I'm sure.
Zack has really enjoyed fingers. As you can see from this picture. I did not put my fingers in his mouth (and my fingers are clean), he grabbed my hands and chompped down. It was so funny because he had my fingers jammed back where his molers would be and he was just chewing away. But he was also trying to talk to us. He kept sticking his tounge out too, but it was hard to photograph. He's such a silly guy. I love that he is starting to laugh. When I tickle him he actually giggles (well sometimes). He's such an amzing baby. Bob and I can't imagine our life without him. What did we do the past 6 years without him... oh yea... SLEEP. LOL. He's actually getting back into his sleeping through the night schedule so that is good for me.
Well that's it, I'll update again soon with Halloween pictures. I can't wait! And I know he won't understand Halloween but it will be fun for me! Plus we get candy!!!

Time... what's that?

Last Wednesday I officially went back to work. It's been hard leaving Zack every day. But it's also nice that I only have to work for 4 hours a day. By the time I'm really missing him, it's time for me to get off. So I'm still spending the majority of my time with him.

I've also started working for ChaCha as a guide. It's been ummm.... interesting. People have weird questions they want answers to. And sometimes it seems they just want someone to talk to them. I only made $.10 a text when I started but now I'm up to $.20 a text. It can change weekly so hopefully I will stay making the $.20. And for anyone that doesn't know what ChaCha is; you send a question via text message to 242242 (ChaCha) and a guide will look up the answer online and send a text back. I do all my work on the computer. It's a job I can do when Zack is napping or at night before I go to bed. I started on Oct 5 and so far I've made just over $100.

People ask how I like being back at work. It's a job. But I like the idea that we'll have a little bit more income coming in. We still need to stay on budget but it will be nice to have the extra cushion and stop dipping into our savings to pay for stuff.

Well I better get to bed, I'm sure Zack will wake up around 1:30 a.m. He was sleeping through the night, but then he got a cold and that went to pot. Now I think he's hit a growth spurt because it doesn't seem like we can keep him feed. He's such a cute little guy!

3 Months

Today Zack is offically 3 months old. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. One thing everyone told me while I was pregnant is to cherish the time you have with the baby because they grow up so fast. And they do! It's amazing how much he has grown in just the last month.

This is a bittersweet month for me. I'll be going back to work soon and I know I need to because we are running out of savings. But at the same time I'm going to miss my little guy while I'm gone. I forbid him to achieve any milestones while I am at work... LOL. As of right now I will be working 5 days a week 4 hours a day. I orignally planned 3 - 8 hour days. I'll be gone from him a shorter amount of time, it will just be hard leaving him EVERY day. I was looking forward to the two day I'd get to spend with him all day long. But my schedule could change depending on what I work out with Candice.

By Now Zack has:
Started cooing and "talking" more.
Drooling a ton! Not really an achievement more of an observation.
Found his feet.
Loves having his toes/feet played with.
Figured out how to move backwards by pushing his feet.
Learned to Suck his thumb.
Started grabbing Toys.
Will put anything he can grab into his mouth.
Caught his first cold. Not 100% over it yet but he's getting there.

He is going to be such a smart active boy. Everytime he is on the floor or the changing table he is moving. Actually whenever he's not sleeping he wants to be moving. He love to be bounced and especially to be talked to. He doesn't like when mommy and daddy are out of eyesight.

He's a great little boy and every day we are reminded how blessed we are to have him in our lives!

Scary day

Sunday night was a very scary night for us. I'm still not sure I've completely processed all of the events.

This post isn't baby related, it's just something that has happened and I wanted to blog it.

Most afternoon/evenings we let our cat Abbie outside in the backyard. Our yard is completely fenced so we don't worry too much about him out there. He's normally really good about checking in with us; just to let us know that he is a good boy. Well yesterday we kind of forgot to bring him back in when it got dark. So when I went to get him he was no where to be found. So I searched the house because sometimes when we think he's outside he's actually sleeping on our bed. Well he wasn't in our house. So we started looking in the front yard. Most people that have met our cat knows that he's more then likely not able to jump the fence. Well that is correct. Unfortunately one of the slats on our fence is warped and keeps coming up at the bottom. Which makes for a perfect kitty door. And lucky us we live next to a park so there is INFINITE places for a cat to hide.

Well Bob and I spent about an hour wandering the 5-6 house radius looking for him. Zack started fussing so I had to take him back in the house to feed him. Bob decided to take the car out to see if he could find him that way.

Next thing I know Bob calls me yelling. Something about Abbie and the Park. I had no idea what he is saying because he was obviously running and Zack was crying. So I do nothing. A minute or so later Abbie walks in the back door. So I call Bob to tell him that Abbie is back. A minute or so after that Bob comes running in asking where Abbie is. I point in the general direction of where he is (not really concerned) and Bob rushes off looking for Abbie saying that we need to take him to the vet. Why? BECAUSE HE GOT HIT BY A CAR!

Yeah I had no idea it was that serious. Luckily a neighborhood friend had seen Bob and figured something was wrong and stopped by. I gave Zack to her and rushed after Bob to see how Abbie was doing.

The good news of the story is I think Abbie is okay. His paws were bleeding because a couple of his claws were ripped off. But he looked and acted just fine. I've pushed and pulled and prodded as much as a non-vet can do and he doesn't seem like he is in any pain. I still will probably take him to the vet tomorrow to get checked out. We just don't have the money for expensive vet tests.

I'm just glad that we didn't have to have a cat funeral on my birthday (which was Monday). I'm not sure I could have handled that.
