Frustrating Shopping Day

It has been getting harder and harder to shop with Zack. He's figured out that he can get out of the shopping cart so with Gavin in the front the only place for Zack is in the basket. Which makes grocery shopping pretty much impossible because the food WILL get stepped on. Then there is the problem of him getting out of the shopping cart. And he runs... And hides. It makes shopping very stressful!

As I mentioned Today was a very bad day. I decided to take Zack and Gavin to Robert's with me to pick up ONE thing that I needed. Of course they didn't have it. Since we go to Robert's often Zack knows where some tiny erasers are. They are stupid and there are a TON of them. And they are just were he can see them all. So naturally he grabs a handful. I usually don't mind because he'll put them back. But tonight he was putting them in his mouth... GROSS. So I took them from him and put them back. He S.C.R.E.A.M.E.D... and screamed and screamed. Fun times. It was so embarassing because Robert's echos so it sounded even worse. Then to top it off he started hitting me. Yeah fun times. Everyone was looking at me and probably shaking their heads at such an unruly child. Not only couldn't I control him but he was hitting me.

So we left.

But I had to buy one thing so I had a screaming child with me. The lady was being nice but she wasn't even saying anything to me. Then I started to cry. Yup right; there at the register. Me crying. I was so embarrased. For how my child was acting and my reactions to him.

I HATE THIS STAGE!

1/2 way to 1 year

Can you believe that Gavin is already 6 months old! Time really is flying bye. First the Summer is practically over and now Gavin is 6 months old... Wow!

I have to say I'm ready for this little guy to start moving on his own. He's getting tired of sitting in one place. Even rolling has gotten old for him. If he's left for too long on his own he crys and wants to be picked up. The cutest thing is when I walk near him he now lifts his arms up for me. How can I resist something so cute! But holding our little man for very long is getting harder and harder. He's a big boy!

Gavin is getting so big (both length and weight). And we love every inch of him. I love his chubby little legs and thick neck. I especailly love to kiss them. Gavin is also so ticklish. And in the right mood I can get him laughing really good.

Gavin loves his big brother. No matter how rough Zack is with thim he just laughs. I'm sure he's just delighted that his big brother is playing with him. But Zack better watch out once Gavin gets moving on his own he'll get back at him.

As always with babies there are many firsts for them. This past month was the first time Gavin went camping. (it's also the first time we went camping as a family!)
6 month stats:
20.6 pounds- 90th percentile
28.8 inches long - 95 percentile
Head Circumfrance - 17.8 inches - 75 percentile
All together - we have one big boy!

Zack's head was always in the 5-10 percentile so already Gavin is much bigger then Zack (which he needs with a brother like Zack!)

Slip N' Slide

This summer my mom and I went to Pocatello ID for my Grandpa's Family reunion. They only have it every two years and each year I've brought a new child with me... weird! This was also Gavin's first time out of the state of Utah.

On the flyer that was sent to each family we were told to bring our swimming suits because there would be a water slide at the park. I pictured a large slide that would go into a pool. Knowing that Zack doesn't like to get his face wet I figured he wouldn't want to go on the slide. When we got to the park the family was setting up a HUGE slip and slide. I still figured Zack wouldn't be interested so I wasn't too worried. We watched some of the kids and a few of the Adults go down the slide. Zack started playing at the bottom of the slide in the water. Once the adults broke the sprinkler on the bottom half of the slide Zack was ready to try sliding. I didn't think he would like it but once he tried it he wouldn't stop!

Here is a video of Zack going down the slide by himself.

And a few pictures.

My baby is growing up!

Can you believe that it's already been 5 months since Gavin was born. It just amazes me how fast time flys by.
And of course it's getting closer to his 6 months now that I've gotten around to writing a post.

I must say I love this little guy so much. He's such a chill little guy. He's been okay sitting and just relaxing. But as always he's growing up way to fast. Already he is rolling over. If I leave him on the floor and go to another room when I come back he is on the other side of the room. I think he's ready to be on the move and start chasing his older brother. In the past month Gavin has also mastered the art of sitting by himself. He'll just sit in the middle of the room and play with his toys. It's HEAVEN! It's amazing how much more time I have to get things done. But now that he's sitting and rolling by himself I do have to make sure not to leave him on the couch by himself (yes I set him on the couch while I make a bottle... but not anymore).

Gavin loves to watch Zack. Zack can do pretty much anything and Gavin will just giggle at him. He really does love his older brother. I can only hope that this love continues and my house will be one of peace... ha ha with two boys my house will be anything but peaceful. But it sure will be interesting. Of course as you can see Zack is already picking on his poor brother. I left the room for a second and came back to this... (Of course I had to take a picture.)

This past month Gavin went on his first out of state car ride to Pocatello, ID. He did AMAZING. I don't think he even fussed there or back. It was great.

This past month has actually been alot of firsts for Gavin.

His first Haircut

His first Bees Game (minor league baseball)

His first Days of 47 parade (it was very hot!)

Gavin has been fussing when anyone other then his parents are watching him. But I think he's finally growing out of that. He just loves to look at people and anyone that is willing to talk to him he just smiles. Gavin is such a chunk and I love every squishy part of him. At his last appointment he weighed 18 pounds, so he can be our Linebacker!
